Draco Dormiens Nunquam Titillandus

Never tickle a sleeping dragon

That’s what the wise always said.

Don’t go waking trouble

That’s snoring soundly in bed.

How sweet the angels slumber,

Rosy cheeks and all!

Peace reigns o’er household

Hush! Silence thy call!

For the minute those pretty eyelids

Open and take in the light,

That devil’s workshop reopens,

Where dwell delinquent delights!

Not a corner is spared of invasions

From these little mighty men.

Thou shall follow, weary or wary,

Till the dragon slumbers again!
